Election losers file 123 petitions in the High Court

One hundred and twenty three election petitions have been filed in different High Courts in the country, seeking courts to overturn IEBC’s decision.

In a gazette notice dated 15th September, Chief Justice Martha Koome notes that the majority of the petitions are for Members of County Assemblies.

12 petitions are for Governor, two for Senator, four for Woman Representative, 27 for Member of Parliament and the rest for Member of County Assembly.

The courts have six months to make their determinations.
