As Michael Olunga sealed a deal to play in the Qatar Super League, he will be playing with another Kenyan, Hashim Al Abdullatif.
The 20-year-old Hashim Al Abdullatif is a regular player for the Xavi-coach Al Sadd. He also featured in the first half yesterday as his team edged Olunga’s Al Duhail 3-1.
Born in Mombasa, Hashim joined Al Sadd in 2019 from Al Arabi.
He has represented the Qatar national team across several junior levels (U19, U20, U23).
He is a graduate of the famous Aspire Academy in Qatar and had a short stint at the Hoffenheim Academy in Germany.
Olunga joined from Kashiwa Reysol where he was the top scorer of the Japanese league in a reported transfer fee of 7 million Euros (approximately sh890 million) from the Qatari club.
The Golden Boot award in the Japanese J-1 League was after notching 28 goals from 32 matches.
